Pourquoi Souffrons-Nous?

La douleur et la souffrance.  Bien que chacune de nos expériences soit unique, elles soulèvent toutes la même question: Pourquoi ? Cette question veut trouver la source et la raison de notre souffrance d'un point de vue biblique.  En réalité, la souffrance est corollaire à l'un des plus grands cadeaux que Dieu ait offerts à sa création : la capacité de choisir.  Exercer la liberté de choisir peut entraîner de grandes difficultés et bien des défis.  La bonne nouvelle est que Dieu aussi connaît la souffrance liée à nos péchés.  Non seulement il a comprend, mais il promet également de la vivre avec nous.

Bill Crowder a rejoint l'équipe des Ministères Notre Pain Quotidien après s'être investi dans le pastorat pendant plus de 20 ans.  Bill travaille en étroite collaboration avec Mart DeHaan comme vice-président du contendu d'ensignement.  Bill peut être entendu régulièrement dans un programme radio intitulé Discover the Word (Découvrir la Parole) et passe la majeure partie de son temps à enseigner la Bible auprès de leaders chrétiens à travers le monde.

Why do we suffer?

Pain and suffering. While each of our circumstances is unique, these common experiences beg that one big question, “Why?” Why? seeks to trace the root and causes of our pain and suffering from a biblical perspective.  Suffering is actually a byproduct of one of God’s greatest gifts to His creation—the gift of choice. And exercising that freedom of choice can result in great difficulties and challenges. The good news is that God also knows
suffering—for our sins—and that He not only understands our pain, but He promises to be with us in it.

Bill Crowder joined the Our Daily Bread Ministries staff in 2001 after more than 20 years in the pastorate stretching from West Virginia to southern California to west Michigan. Over the years, Bill has spent much of his time in a Bible-conference ministry around the world, serving ODBM offices and their outreach to their local communities. Bill is a contributing writer for the Our Daily Bread devotional and has written many Bible study booklets for ODBM’s Discovery Series. He has also published a number of books with ODB Publishing, the latest being Wisdom for our Worries and Gospel on the Mountains. Bill also serves as a co-host with Mart DeHaan, Elisa Morgan, and Daniel Ryan Day on the “Discover the Word” podcast and daily radio program, heard throughout the U.S. and on more than 20 stations in Canada. On the personal front, Bill is now semi-retired and, with his wife, Marlene, lives in North Carolina.
